A Fun-Filled Family Wedding: From Didsbury to Village Point, Heaton Moor

bride groom love film

As a Manchester wedding photographer, I love capturing weddings that are full of energy, laughter, and personal touches—and this one had it all. The day started in Didsbury with the bridal preparations. The bride got ready surrounded by her closest friends and family, and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. The morning was all about capturing those candid moments: laughter over champagne glasses, the bride’s mum helping with the dress, and the adorable chaos brought by little ones running around.

Once everyone was ready, we headed over to Village Point in Heaton Moor for the ceremony and celebrations. Village Point is a fantastic wedding venue for couples looking for a modern, stylish space with plenty of character. The ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, with the couple’s two-year-old stealing the show as he toddled up the aisle to join his parents.

The reception was a true family affair. With lots of children present, there was a lively and playful vibe throughout the day. From group portraits with the kids pulling silly faces to spontaneous games on the venue’s grounds, the focus was on fun and connection. The bride and groom’s little one featured prominently, from playing with the other kids to showing off his best moves on the dancefloor later in the evening.

The evening party was unforgettable, thanks to the incredible band Lost Keys. They brought the house down with a setlist packed with indie rock anthems, including Arctic Monkeys classics that had everyone on their feet. The dancefloor was packed all night, with the bride and groom leading the way—often with their two-year-old in tow, who was throwing shapes like a pro.

For me, the highlight of the day was capturing the bride, groom, and their little one dancing together under the twinkling lights. Moments like these remind me why I love photographing weddings: it’s all about telling the story of a couple’s day and the people they share it with.
